FEATURE
THE ULTIMUTT FIREFIGHTER
Embarking on the journey of writing a story about Ally, the arson dog of the Omaha Fire Department, was an exhilarating experience for me as a high school journalist. The process allowed me to delve into the world of Ally's crucial role in fire investigations. After interviewing Ally's handler I acknowledged the unwavering bond between this remarkable canine and her human counterpart. The story not only highlighted Ally's exceptional skills in detecting accelerants but also shed light on the vital role she plays in ensuring the safety of the community. FILM FEATURETTE
This is the most recent feature story I have written for the Catalyst online. After personally viewing the short films that senior Ella Konwinski directed and produced on her Youtube channel, I knew that her work had to be commemorated on our platform. To my surprise, her films were gracing the screens of multiple movie theaters across the Omaha metro area. Being able to tell her story through my love of writing was extremely fulfilling as a high school journalist. Click the photo to the right to read more.
A THESPIAN LIKE NO OTHER
This was the first feature story that I wrote for the Catalyst Online. Reporting on the Millard West student who recieved the esteemed title of "International Thespian Leader" prompted a deep dive into the realm of the International Thespian Society. Through a combination of diligent research and engaging interviews, I unraveled the layers surrounding junior Sadie Kottich's well-deserved award, offering readers an inside look into her accomplishments and personal aspirations.
